Winter often presents a challenge to the woman seeking to balance comfort with style. Enduring the cold winter months, however, does not mean that you have to compromise your sense of fashion. Winter clothing does not have to be unflattering, nor do winter colors have to be dark grays and brown. Winter can beautiful but it can also be bleak as the lush colors of fall give way to a starker landscape. One way of spicing up your mood, as well as the mood of the people around you, is to incorporate more color into your winter wardrobe. Here are some tips for perking up your winter wardrobe.

Winter Footwear

Many women often choose utility over style in regards to winter footwear. While warmth and comfort are important considerations, this doesn’t mean that fashion has to take a back seat in the winter. Thigh-high and knee-high boots are a popular choice for women in the winter. In addition to being fashionable and sexy, they keep your legs warm and comfortable in the winter months

Winter Coats

A warm coat does not necessarily mean a bulky and shapeless coat. Choose a wool coat that is shaped and tailored to complement your body style. A tailored coat should be cut close to the chest and slightly flare out at the hips. Little details like pleating, rounded collars, and so forth can add a little panache. Bright colored coats, especially during the Christmas season, are another way to add spice to your winter clothes.

Winter Hats

Wintertime provides the perfect opportunity to have fun with different types of hats. Winter hats can be chic and hip or more bohemian. They add a touch of class and keep you warm at the same time.

Scarf Ideas

A matching scarf is a great accessory for your winter wardrobe. A scarf keeps you warm but it also adds a sense of style and whimsy. A scarf is one of the more personalized touches to a wardrobe. Choose a scarf that has a similar fabric as your hat. It should complement the lines, details, and color of the coat as well

Winter Pants and Leggings

Jeans are ideal for the winter months. Jeans can be practical as well as stylish. One of the best ways to stay warm and fashionable during the winter is to wear bold colored leggings. Leggings are available in almost every imaginable color. Wearing bold colored leggings is the perfect way to add spice to a dark winter outfit.

Pregnancy is a time full of excitement. It seems like everyday births a new question or a new change. It’s exciting and nerve-racking all at the same time. As a mommy-to-be, you’ll find plenty of things to worry about. Don’t let maternity wear be one of them!

The fashion world overflows with adorable clothing to make your baby bump even cuter.

Whether you are in the mood for a pair of comfy jeans or a flirty dress, your choices are endless. Gone are the days of frumpy, over-sized tops and a very limited selection of anything else. There are plenty of styles to choose from in today’s fashionable maternity wear.

Dresses are a charming choice while with child. A wrap dress is one of the most figure-flattering garments available to women; in maternity wear, it is no different. Besides the comfort factor, wrap dresses will highlight your feminine shape and will stretch to accommodate your growing belly.

As for shirts, you can’t go wrong with a tunic top. This type of blouse is fitted across the shoulders with an empire waist. The shirt then floats away from the body, giving you plenty of room.

The baggy sweater, a current popular trend, will keep you comfy and chic, especially when paired with leggings and your favorite boots.

Maternity tanks have stretchy material where it matters most. For the most flattering look, choose tanks that come to your hip. Moreover, belted blouses make particularly adorable outfits. These blouses sport a belt just below the bust line to accentuate the smallest part of your body. Choose one with a bow accent to showcase your precious gift.

Inevitably so, there will be days when you just want to throw on a pair of sweatpants and call it a day. Instead, choose yoga pants. They will flatter your figure and still keep you comfortable. Jeans are a staple in any pregnant woman’s wardrobe. With items like a belly band, you can wear your favorite pre-pregnancy jeans unbuttoned for a more pleasant fit.

Indeed, today’s maternity wear is just as stylish as regular clothing. There is certainly no need for a mommy-to-be to sacrifice style for the sake of comfort. With plenty of fashionable choices, you can keep up with your changing body and feel beautiful every step of the way.

In the world of fashion it can be tough for a beginner to determine if the critics think they are actually talented or if they are being lied to. Fashion critics are often good at giving false praise to someone’s face and then trashing them behind their back. Others will instantly decide they dislike someone, without even evaluating how talented the person is as what they do. Receiving criticism that is constructive and honest is tough in the fashion industry.

Designers just beginning their career will feel more confident if they have validation that they are talented enough to be successful in the field. This makes it easier to endure the inevitable criticism they will receive from a critic. It is the designers that do not let criticism discourage them that become the most successful in the fashion world.

Jumping into a fashion career without being prepared for it is a likely way to ensure the designer will fail to excel in the business. Critics and others in the business can sense when someone is not confident in their own talents and abilities.

When people start up a fashion business they may have great ideas about what they need to do. The problem with this is that they may not have anything but a great idea. There are more things to consider before opening a fashion business.

It really all starts with the management process. People that want a business will need to consider the right business management software. This plays the most important part in the fashion business process. The best business owners will see the value of the right software for managing inventory and keeping track of the costs of operations.

So many fashion businesses fail simply because there is no a concrete plan. People go out with an intention to change the fashion business, but unorganized businesses will not succeed very often. The measure of a good fashion business is judged heavily by how the business runs behind the scenes.

Fortunately, there are a lot of great programs on the market. The software industry has programs that are specifically geared towards fashion. People can take stock of dresses and prices. People can even track things like markup prices versus sale prices. It is important to have a separation of the items for the different seasons. One should also buy software that tracks how much money is needed during different times of the year. A company may peak with high sales during the summer, but the sales of winter clothing may be dismal. It is pertinent to use business management software to track things like this. It takes precision pinpointing to make certain businesses successful. A person that is selling clothing that is seasonal needs to know where they peak. This helps them get the right amount of inventory for the right time of year.

People also have to consider advertising when a fashion business is started. Word of mouth is always great promotion for something like this, but advertising must start somewhere. Companies cannot depend solely on word of mouth promotions. To the contrary, there has to be something like a fashion void that is missing. The advertisements must address this fashion void. When people think that they are missing something they will often be more inclined to see what the business is about.

Potential business owners will need some great fashion tips to run a fashion business. The owners must know what the latest trends are at all times.

Have you ever wondered what to do with that pile of older tee shirts you no longer wear but can’t bring yourself to get rid of? With only some tee shirts and time you can create the following four projects. The simplest project is a Dog Tug Toy. Simply cut tee shirts into 21 one inch by twenty inch strips. Lay the pieces in three sections of 7 and braid. Then tie a large knot at each end. Within moments you’ve made your dog a new tug toy.

If you’re tired of using plastic bags, try this easy project for making a shopping bag. Place your tee shirt right side out then fold in half vertically. If there are sleeves, cut them off before also cutting the neckline to approximately the same depth as the sleeve openings. Turn the shirt inside out and sew the bottom of the shirt closed. For a stronger seam use a French seam. Depending upon your preference sew boxed corners or leave as is. Now you have a new bag for shopping!

A more difficult project that requires numerous tee shirts is a simple quilted throw. You’ll need an inexpensive fleece throw and several tee shirts. Cut large squares from the shirts and stitch them together. The size of the tee shirt quilt front will need to match the measurement of your throw. With right sides together, sew the front to the throw leaving approximately 10 inches open so it can be turned right side out. Once you turn it right side out, stitch the opening closed and hand sew a knot in the middle of each tee shirt square. This quick quilted throw is a favorite with teens and can be made to fit any size fleece blanket.

How about a woven rug using a hula hoop and approximately twelve tee shirts? Cut between 60 and 70 one inch wide loops. Place eleven loops over the hula hoop perpendicular to each other to form the warp. Adjust two of your “spokes” together at the top for an odd number. Tie the first weft loop to the center of the doubled warp by wrapping it around the warp and looping through itself. Weave the weft through the warp snuggly, treating each loop as one unit. Join a new weft by looping it through the current one. When the rug is eight inches wide, begin using each separate warp strip. Eight inches from the edge of the hoop slice open your weft loop and tie the ends around a warp. Slice each warp off the hoop, tie the ends to secure the weave and make a decorative fringe. Enjoy your repurposed tee shirts!

Every bride deserves the perfect dress for her big day. Besides choosing a gown that best suits the bride’s personality and budget, there are also some things to consider, like material and style, that can change depending on the time of year. In order to make your wedding day one that’s both comfortable and unforgettable, pay attention to the trends that make each season unique.

Spring can be a memorable time to say I do. For those who have set the date during this season of blossoms and birth it can be helpful to remember that there may be some weather restrictions. Those with outdoor weddings may want to consider a higher hemline to avoid any damage caused by damp ground. This time of year also calls forth romantic lace detailing and delicate embellishments. It’s not uncommon to see designers displaying capped sleeves on spring gowns with Dessy bridesmaid dresses to compliment the bride. Those choosing full length dresses will also find that a trumpet silhouette is quite common from March to May.

Summer is widely referred to as wedding season the world over. The ideal temperatures and laid back atmosphere set an essential backdrop for celebrating this special event. Generally speaking, anything goes as far as dresses during the summer months, but brides may want to take the temperature into consideration. Light, breathable fabrics like cotton and chiffon are popular picks for designers whose creations pair well with the heat. Equally, summer springs an occasion for short playful dresses and empire waists.

Brides take the opportunity to don a fuller skirt when the temperature once again begins to drop. Fall presents an optimal season for ball gowns and cupcake dresses. From September to November bridal magazines recommend a gathered skirt or something with several layers. If a woman has always treasured the idea of a princess style dress, autumn presents a perfect opportunity.

It’s less common for a couple to set a date during the cold months of winter, yet a snowy wedding can be an ethereal event that’s full of romance. Specialists recommend vintage looks for this time of year. Since nearly all winter weddings are held indoors, this is a great opportunity for a long train. Additionally it’s one of the few times of the year when sleeves, and even collars, are common editions on gowns.

A bride’s personality will ultimately determine the dress. Luckily, with top fashion designers creating pieces for a comfortable bride, wedding dresses for every season are available to those who know where to look.

Many pet owners believe that their dog’s size, coloring, and sex defines what style their dog should have. However, when searching for the perfect dog leashes, collars, and other dog accessories the best factor of determining what to choose is the personality traits you and your pet share. Sparkly, pink hues aren’t traditional for pit bulls, but if the animal is feminine and spoiled that could be the perfect style. Below is a list of potential style choices for owners and their pets.

Laid-Back Owner/Low Maintenance Dogs:
These are the owners and pets that prefer hiking outdoors, swimming, a good game of Frisbee, or just spending time together outside. These people are suited best in the standard solid color collars and bandana-wearing pooches. We recommend a thick collar with a reflective print in case outdoor fun turns from day to dusk. Bandanas are perfect for a well-behaved dog, especially as a way to advertise owner’s favorite sports teams, but make sure to double-knot for bigger breeds.

Preppy Owner/Spunky Dogs:
These are for first-time pet owners, most likely in their 20s, who have just partnered up with their new four-legged friend. Argyle-print collars and matching leashes are perfect for an eye-alluring pattern. For a more feminine look we recommend small or large polka-dot prints or bright plaid leashes and collars. All options can be customized to fit the owner’s and pet’s style perfectly.

Edgy Owner/Hardcore Dogs:
The classic choke collar is a symbol of a dangerous dog and a tough owner. Forgo strangling your pooch, and opt for spiked collar or black leather collars with chrome accent-pieces. Match it with a metal chain lease to have the complete look. Want a more subtle look? Go for the skull and crossbones prints or for a more girly look, match with a bright hot pink leash.

Princess Owner/Spoiled Dogs:
Normally reserved for small-breed dogs, these are the owners that adore dressing their pets and prefer to carry them. These owners need little to no help with advising what to wear because they most likely own ever leash and collar that appeal to them. We will advise these owners to forgo full outfits for simple leash and collar prints. We recommend the blinged out, sparkly collars matched with glittery leashes.

Personality dictates the best accessories for your pet so if you have an aggressive Pomeranian, embrace their personality with a spiky collar!
